Employee Sexual Misconduct Policy

York’s Employee Sexual Misconduct Policy came into effect on July 1, 2023. The new policy will further strengthen York’s response to sexual misconduct between employees and students.

This policy is in response to Bill 26, Strengthening Post-secondary Institutions and Students Act, 2022. This bill requires every institution to have an employee sexual misconduct policy that includes incidents that involve employees and students of the institution, and examples of disciplinary measures that may be faced by employees.

York’s policy notes what is considered sexual misconduct, the process for responding to complaints and potential discipline if an employee is found to have engaged in sexual misconduct.

All employees are encouraged to review the new policy. You can access this content and more information by visiting YULink.
